Wagasa Workshop in the Post ACUNS Kyoto Tour (24/6/2024)

We visited Hiyoshiya, a long-established company in Kyoto that has been manufacturing wagasa for five generations, and had a workshop of making wagasa.

They manufacture and wholesale the main-style nodate umbrella, which is used by both the Ura and Omote Senke tea ceremony masters, as well as the bungasa, janome-gasa, hahno-jyu, and mai-gasa.
