The online discussion meeting organized by the Kyoto Peacebuilding Center ascertained a new paradigm for the future of global governance. The participants called for reforming the United Nations Security Council first by immediately increasing the number of non-permanent members of the Security Council in order to enhance the representation of Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The participants then called for a comprehensive reform of the United Nations system in about twenty years when the UN celebrates its 100th anniversary, including the abolition of veto casting in the Security Council.
