On November 17, 2024, the 1st study session of Hasegawa Juku, Kyoto Peacebuilding Center, was held at Gaien Campus of Kyoto University of the Arts. About 10 students from universities in Tokyo gathered to learn about the ideological origins and basic content of “realism,” “liberalism,” and “constructivism,”
mainstream theories of international relations, as well as their application in the current international situation. Participants were divided into small groups to give presentations on their respective theories of international relations.
Afterwards, a young researcher working on the “Pact for the Future,” adopted this year at the UN General Assembly, gave a brief overview of her research. After a question-and-answer session, Mr.Sukehiro Hasegawa concluded the session by sharing his lessons for today’s youth based on his own experiences.
