On January 11, 2025, the 2nd study session of Hasegawa Juku, Kyoto International Peacebuilding Center, was held at the Gaien Campus of Kyoto University of the Arts. Around 10 students from various universities gathered to explore the reasons behind the persistence of war in the modern world, as well as the role of the United Nations in addressing current conflicts in Ukraine and Palestine. Participants engaged in debates on the history and challenges of UN peacebuilding, using their individual academic interests and backgrounds as starting points.
Afterwards, Mr. Sukehiro Hasegawa shared his insights on how today’s youth should reflect on their future and demonstrate leadership, drawing on his own experiences.
