Mr. Tadamichi Yamamoto, council member in Kyoto Peacebuilding Center, had a dialogue session with UNU Rector Marwala on “The Pact for the Future and International Peace and Security” (28/1/2025)

In this dialogue, former UN Under-Secretary-General Tadamichi Yamamoto and UNU Rector Marwala discussed the role of the UN in ensuring international peace and security, as well as the various challenges facing the UN in the contemporary world. They discussed how the UN should respond to ongoing conflicts and the significance of “Pact for the Future” in global governance, peace, and security. In addition, the specific roles that both the UN and Japan should play in addressing these issues were discussed.
